Automating Solar + Energy Storage Permits for Colorado

Over 200 jurisdictions across Colorado benefit from automated plan review from SolarAPP+
The Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) has selected SolarAPP+ to deliver a streamlined electrical plan review experience for solar installers of residential solar and energy storage systems across Colorado.

DORA and local jurisdictions across the state are demonstrating how technology like SolarAPP+ (Automated Permit Processing) can deliver public services more effectively and efficiently for both our local businesses and residents.
Contractors can now submit their electrical permits through SolarAPP+’s online portal instead of submitting the multiple documents previously required by DORA, making it easier than ever to verify your projects and quickly issue your permit.

Using SolarAPP+ is as easy as registering, then submitting project information into the online tool. As you enter information you receive instant feedback about your projects, including compliance with the 2023 NEC. SolarAPP+ also flags potential inspection failure points — like UL compatibility — so you can correct possible issues in advance.

Once complete, your documents will be sent to DORA for a short review prior to issuing your buildable permit.

If you are new to SolarAPP+, register today. If you already have an account, sign in to submit a permit.
